ABOUT OUR ARTIST

Eduardo Guerrero, choreographer/dancer

Eduardo Guerrero is flamenco in its richest current incarnation. The Cádiz-born 34-year-old crafted a solid career in the companies of some of Spain’s most important dancers, including Eva Yerbabuena, Antonio Canales and Rocío Molina. However, his two solo shows, El callejón de los pecados (“Sin Alley”) and Guerrero (“Warrior”), are what have brought Guerrero to the forefront of flamenco dance in Spain.

Eduardo has been a part of or collaborated with: Aida Gómez (Salomé, Carmen and Suite Flamenca), Eva La Yerbabuena in almost all shows since 2003 to 2014, Rocio Molina (Oro Viejo, Bosque Ardora where Eduardo shined as contemporary dancer), The Spanish Ballet directed by Javier Latorre, playing one of the leading roles in the shows Somorostro and Penélope, Rafael Aguilar’s company with Bolero, Amador Rojas’ dance company with the show Kahlo Caló, Antonio Canales and his company (Bernarda Alba and Flamenco Directo)

Guerrero was awarded the XXI Jerez Festival’s ‘Audience Award’ in 2017, and his status and professional trajectory have done nothing but skyrocket since. He excels in contemporary and experimental styles, and is equally adept at traditional flamenco. This inexhaustible dancer and choreographer has toured Guerrero since early 2017. He then created and premiered Sombra Efímera in 2018 at the behest of the XX Seville Flamenco Biennial, and recently debuted a new work Faro at the XXII Jerez Festival in 2018, and in California at the Santa Barbara Flamenco Festival in 2019.

Guerrero’s work is always a breath of fresh air, regardless of the theme or format. He deftly creates an entirely unique style built on flawless technique that appeals to both flamenco purists and fans of innovation. While his aesthetic is contemporary, his physical language is rigidly traditional and always captivating.

Vida Flamenca is proud to present Eduardo Guerrero in an exclusive 4 hour multi-level Masterclass on Wednesday, March 25 from 6 to 9pm in the city of Orange, California.
