“Stellar Stars of Flamenco… bursting with movement!”

With the power and purity of technique and the magic of his presence, Losa is nothing less than brilliant! He brings with him dancer Vanesa Coloma, noted as being ‘a force of powerful exuberance’ along with guitarist Antonio Sánchez, and singer Ismael de la Rosa “El Bola.”

International Flamenco sensation, Alfonso Losa is recognized throughout the flamenco world as one of the great talents of the current generation. As a child he was taught by Rafael de Cordoba and later studied at the Real Conservatorio de Danza. He was soon recognized for his natural abilities and went on to refine his skills with great masters such as El Guïto, Manolete, La China, Antonio Canales and Javier Latorre. Losa has become a laureate of Spain’s most important flamenco contests, including Premio Nacional de Cordoba (2007) for Soleá, and “Premio El Desplante” at the prestigious Festival Internacional de las Minas (2008).

Alfonso Losa is a highly inspired dancer with blinding speed and an expressive style; both passionate and masterfully in control.

Vanesa Coloma has participated as a guest artist and as a soloist in the companies of Belén Maya, Jesús Carmona, Rocío Molina, Alfonso Losa, Manuel Liñán and Noche Flamenca, and participated in several of the most prestigious flamenco festivals, including; Seville Biennial, Jerez Festival, Festival de Cante de Las Minas, Suma Flamenca, Madrid en Danza, Flamenco USA Festival, Alburquerque Festival, Mont de Marsan Festival, and Nimes Festival. Expect to be surprised; a fiery and technically accomplished performer, Coloma is a vulnerable dancer with a fearless heart.

Returning to Los Angeles is cantaor, Ismael de la Rosa “El Bola,” a powerhouse of Flamenco cante. Ismael belongs to a gypsy lineage deeply steeped in flamenco tradition. Each musical accent expresses a fierce mixture of pride and pain. This performance also features the Hollywood debut of guitarist Antonio Sánchez. A brilliant guitarist in his own right, Antonio, nephew of Paco de Lucia and Ramón de Algeciras is a transcendent and deeply emotional player who continues to reach for depth of expression with his enriching harmonic vocabulary.

Losa also welcomes to this collaboration Córdoba-born dancer Manuel Gutiérrez. Gracious and skillful, Manuel embodies rhythmic complexity in each performance. The show is augmented with the percussive brilliance by Diego Álvarez “El Negro,” and the always thrilling, guitar playing of Andrés Vadin.
