Held at various locations throughout the extraordinary city of Granada including; Palacio de Carlos V, Casa de los Pisa, Peña La Platería, Auditorio Manuel de Falla and the Teatro municipal Isabel La Católica.

The Granada International Guitar Festival was created in 2017. The European Guitar Foundation leads an international agreement in which the Granada City Council and the California State University (500,000 students) will also be involved, with this University celebrating its highly specialized course summer event of almost a month, Summer Arts, in the city of Granada. This would attract the best concert artists on the international scene to teach 30 students per year and offer concerts within the Festival. With these elements, support from more fundamental institutions for its development (Junta de Andalucía, Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife and Universidad de Granada), collaborators and sponsors, as well as the determination, tireless work and great economic commitment on the part of the Foundation, The Festival quickly established itself as the reference within the festivals dedicated solely to the Spanish guitar in its programming, without using this instrument as an unreasonable justifying element to program other types of music and artists that have nothing to do with what the guitar is. Spanish that we must show and defend seriously in the land in which we live.
