VI edición de Suma Flamenca Joven * 24 al 27 de septiembre, Madrid

En las cinco ediciones anteriores de Suma Flamenca Joven se ha conseguido consolidar esta muestra de jóvenes en el Festival Suma Flamenca. El reto para este año es mantener el nivel de aceptación por parte de la afición y el público en general, y la motivación e inspiración de los artistas. Como viene siendo habitual, participarán solistas menores de 30 años, es decir, nacidos después del 31 de diciembre de 1995.

La Comunidad de Madrid quiere apoyar a los nuevos valores del Cante, el Toque y el Baile Flamenco, facilitando la Sala Verde de los Teatros del Canal con un equipo técnico y de producción que tendrá a su cargo medios de sonorización e iluminación óptimos para que los artistas puedan mostrar con categoría el Arte Flamenco “por derecho”.

Siempre es bueno recordar que en la vida de un artista hay dos momentos cruciales: el inicio de su trayectoria en el difícil mundo del Flamenco y los años finales de veteranía. La madurez aporta la experiencia necesaria como intérprete y creador para dimensionar una obra de arte, la capacidad de síntesis, la autoridad de la palabra, el mensaje y la proximidad. En definitiva, la excelencia artística.

Los inicios, no obstante, se traducen en otros enormes e imprescindibles beneficios: los que devienen de la frescura y la ambición, de la valentía y la audacia para emprender caminos y experiencias sin red, la determinación irrevocable de contar la vida a través del Arte. Son momentos de una energía artística y creativa con una intensidad y una verdad incontestables, de difícil comparación en otras etapas profesionales.

La sexta edición de Suma Flamenca Joven se configura como un ciclo de cuatro días, y en cada uno de ellos actuará un concertista de guitarra y, algunas veces, otros instrumentos, un cantaor o cantaora y un bailaor o bailaora. El escenario en el que desplegarán su arte será la Sala Verde de los Teatros del Canal y en ese magnífico espacio disfrutaremos del arte de Jesús de la Estrella, de Toledo; Yaiza Trigo y Álvaro Moreno, de Sevilla; Yolanda Mozos y Niño Ruven, de Córdoba; Aitana Rousseau, de Almería; Ana Almagro, de Málaga; Esmeralda Rancapino y Luis Montoya “Chanquita”, de Cádiz; y Laura Reyes, Eleazar Cerreduela y Rober el Moreno, de Madrid.

The five previous editions of Suma Flamenca Joven have successfully established this showcase for young talent within the Suma Flamenca Festival. The challenge for this year is to maintain the high level of acceptance among aficionados and the general public, as well as the artists’ motivation and inspiration. As is customary, the participants will be soloists under the age of 30—specifically, those born after December 31, 1995.

The Community of Madrid aims to support emerging talent in flamenco singing (cante), guitar playing (toque), and dance (baile) by providing the Sala Verde at the Teatros del Canal. This venue comes equipped with a technical and production team managing top-tier sound and lighting systems, ensuring artists can showcase the art of flamenco with the distinction and authenticity it deserves.

It is always worth remembering that an artist’s life holds two crucial moments: the start of their journey in the challenging world of flamenco and their later years as seasoned veterans. Maturity brings the experience—as both performer and creator—needed to give a work of art its full dimension, as well as the capacity for synthesis, the authority of expression, the message, and a sense of intimacy. In short, artistic excellence.

Beginnings, however, offer their own immense and essential benefits: those stemming from freshness and ambition; from the courage and boldness to embark on paths and experiences without a safety net; and from the unwavering determination to tell the story of life through art. These are moments of artistic and creative energy possessing an undeniable intensity and truth—qualities rarely matched at other stages of a professional career.

The sixth edition of Suma Flamenca Joven is structured as a four-day series. Each day will feature a concert soloist—playing guitar or, at times, other instruments—alongside a flamenco singer and a flamenco dancer. They will showcase their art on the stage of the Teatros del Canal’s Sala Verde; in this magnificent setting, we will enjoy the artistry of Jesús de la Estrella (Toledo); Yaiza Trigo and Álvaro Moreno (Seville); and Yolanda Mozos and Niño Ruven (Córdoba).
