Flamenco Guitarist José Luis de la Paz Passes Away + Tributo en Huelva

With profound sadness, we share the news of Jose Luis de la Paz passing. He was a champion, the best of friends and giving musician to so many. A musical legacy passes with him. Our heartfelt condolences to his family in Huelva, his friends and colleagues in Miami and around the world.

José Luis de la Paz is considered one of the best guitarists of his generation. He is a virtuoso and his work as a composer and as a performer make him a guitarist who transcends beyond traditional flamenco.

De la Paz has received various awards during his career, both in competition and in recognition of his work. He earned his place in the book Agenda Flamenca by Félix Grande in 1990 as one of the best guitarists of his generation.

Among his collaborations, he wrote the music for Ballet de Cristina Hoyos, Belén Maya and for Siudy Garrido. As such, José Luis has collaborated with great Flamenco artists like José Mercé, Farruquito and Antonio Canales and with artists from other disciplines like Concha Buika, Colin Farish, Big-Band Raíces, Federico Britos.
