The internationally renowned Spanish dancer, Joaquín Cortés (web), arrives in the United States with his show, “Esencia”. In this performance, Cortés presents an intimate journey that intertwines his own story with the history of flamenco, from its origins to the present day. The show consists of a series of pieces representing different styles of flamenco, such as soleá, bulería, alegría, and farruca. Cortés is joined by a cast of 30 artists, including dancers, musicians, and singers.
