VOGUE/Spain celebrates ‘Día Internacional del Flamenco’ with its’ December 2025 Edition!
‘Las mujeres del flamenco’ is a glorious celebration and tribute to this year’s Día Internacional del Flamenco/International Flamenco Day, and also the 15th anniversary of UNESCO’s declaration of Flamenco as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
VOGUE/Spain pays tribute to the historic date of November 16, and its’ significance with a very special cover and article in their December 2025 issue. The feature, under the artistic direction of A Flamenco Catharsis has brought together 28 Flamenco women who, with their boundless talent, nurture this art form every day.

“The second revolution, metaphorically speaking, in flamenco is being brought about by Vogue magazine.”
If the first revolution was 50 years ago with Lole and Manuel’s album Nuevo Día, recently celebrated this November, the second is happening today, the eighteenth, with Vogue Spain’s cover story: “The Women of Flamenco.” The feature is shot in one of Spain’s most beautiful palatial homes: the Casa Pilatos in Seville, commemorating the 15th anniversary of flamenco’s declaration as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
For this occasion, Vogue has brought together 28 flamenco artists, including living legends of this art form, masters of the most authentic flamenco dance from a time that was a wellspring of enrichment through coexistence with new generations open to the avant-garde of classical and contemporary dance. Dancers, singers, guitarists. All women, and all flamenco artists by birth, talent, and dedication.
When I saw the images and videos on social media, I experienced a catharsis, because what they’ve done for Vogue Spain is a historic milestone in a historic place that brings together and celebrates flamenco women, giving them visibility to a general audience in this special edition of the fashion magazine.
Flamenco is fashionable because it’s alive and has always been relevant.
Without a doubt, this is one of the most important tributes to date. Vogue/Spain issue is available November 18, 2025.
