El Teatro Real está considerado la institución más importante de las artes escénicas en España, el teatro de ópera nacional más importante y una de las instituciones culturales españolas más importantes. El teatro también goza de un gran prestigio internacional.

Del 16 al 19 de octubre el Ballet Nacional de España vuelve al Teatro Real. La música de Manolo Sanlúcar y la dramaturgia de Miguel Narros dan cuerpo a Medea, lectura superlativa de este mito de profundas raíces mediterráneas en el que la danza estalla en una catarsis de rabia y destrucción.

Pocos creadores supieron convertir el baile en relato, el gesto en emoción y la tradición en vanguardia como lo hiciera el maestro José Granero, protagonista absoluto de este programa. Leyenda pinta la pasión como un vaivén entre deseo y tormento, en el que el acercamiento solo conduce a la agresión, la desesperación y la soledad. En Bolero, el pulso inexorable de la música sostiene una hipnótica ceremonia de formas y sombras, multiplicadas por los espejos del escenario de inspiración art noveau. From October 16 to 19, the National Ballet of Spain returns to the Teatro Real. The music of Manolo Sanlúcar and the dramaturgy of Miguel Narros give shape to Medea, a superlative interpretation of this myth with deep Mediterranean roots in which dance explodes in a catharsis of rage and destruction.

Few creators have been able to transform dance into story, gesture into emotion, and tradition into avant-garde as maestro José Granero, the absolute protagonist of this program, did. Leyenda paints passion as a back-and-forth between desire and torment, in which closeness only leads to aggression, despair, and loneliness. In Bolero, the inexorable pulse of the music sustains a hypnotic ceremony of shapes and shadows, multiplied by the mirrors of the Art Nouveau-inspired stage. Manolo Sanlúcar’s music and Miguel Narros’s dramaturgy embody Medea, a superlative interpretation of this myth with deep Mediterranean roots in which dance explodes into a catharsis of rage and destruction.
