La bailaora y coreógrafa Rafaela Carrasco propone en “Creaviva”, en co-dirección escénica con Antonio Ruz, una exploración del universo que conforman cada una de las Musas, como prismas de una misma hoya ancestral y colectiva. Nueve piezas, nueve artes que a través del lenguaje flamenco buscan su expresión, su contraste, su sentido, desde su esencia atemporal.

Se desea mostrar la realidad del creador en continuo estado de soledad. La frustración, el desamparo, el tiempo de la nada en contraste con la evocación de imágenes como antesala al comienzo de algo, de un algo que acabará encontrando una identidad. Sentirse ebrio de ideas que irán tomando forma hasta alcanzar un resultado casi siempre impredecible.

Una obra compuesta por una suite de nueve piezas con motivos compositivos y pensamiento propio. No están vinculadas, pero todas forman parte de un concepto común.

Junto al dramaturgo y poeta Álvaro Tato y a los compositores Jesús Torres, Pablo Martín Jones y Antonio Campos, Rafaela establece un diálogo entre las formas y estilos del flamenco, conviviendo con ritmos y sonoridades del folclore tradicional, con diversos textos y poemas de la cultura grecolatina referidos a las Musas y sus artes, y convertidos aquí en coplas cantadas.

Buscamos la expresión del movimiento en cada una de ellas, sus símbolos y sus tradiciones asociadas, para transmitir en las coreografías la esencia de las nueve hermanas: Calípoe, Clío, Érato, Euterpe, Melpómene, Polimnia, Talía, Terpsícore y Urania.

A partir de la experiencia vital y artística de su colaboración mutua, que ha dado lugar a espectáculos como “Nacida sombra”, “Ariadna. Al hilo del mito” y “Nocturna. Arquitectura del insomnio”, los artistas ofrecen una mirada contemporánea al mito que encarna uno de los grandes misterios de la condición humana: la creación.

In “Creaviva,” flamenco dancer and choreographer Rafaela Carrasco, in co-stage direction with Antonio Ruz, proposes an exploration of the universe formed by each of the Muses, like prisms of the same ancestral and collective wellspring. Nine pieces, nine art forms that, through the language of flamenco, seek their expression, their contrast, their meaning, from their timeless essence.

The aim is to show the reality of the creator in a continuous state of solitude. The frustration, the helplessness, the time of nothingness contrasted with the evocation of images as a prelude to the beginning of something, something that will eventually find its identity. To feel intoxicated by ideas that will take shape until reaching an almost always unpredictable result.

A work composed of a suite of nine pieces with their own compositional motifs and thought processes. They are not linked, but all form part of a common concept.

Alongside playwright and poet Álvaro Tato and composers Jesús Torres, Pablo Martín Jones, and Antonio Campos, Rafaela establishes a dialogue between the forms and styles of flamenco, blending them with rhythms and sounds of traditional folklore, and incorporating various texts and poems from Greco-Roman culture related to the Muses and their arts, transformed here into sung verses.

We seek the expression of movement in each of them, their symbols, and their associated traditions, to convey in the choreography the essence of the nine sisters: Callipoe, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Thalia, Terpsichore, and Urania.

Drawing on the lived and artistic experience of their collaboration, which has resulted in shows such as “Nacida sombra” (Born Shadow), “Ariadna. Al hilo del mito” (Ariadne. Following the Thread of the Myth), and “Nocturna. Arquitectura del insomnio” (Nocturne. Architecture of Insomnia), the artists offer a contemporary perspective on the myth that embodies one of the great mysteries of the human condition: creation.
