El cartel de Morenatti para La Bienal de Flamenco 2026 en Sevilla

The poster for the XXIV Bienal de Flamenco was presented this morning by the mayor, José Luis Sanz, and the author of the work, the photojournalist Emilio Morenatti. The event took place at the “Destination Seville” presentation held by the City Council on the occasion of the activities it will carry out in Madrid at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) from January 21 to 25.

Sanz, highlighted the work that was revealed this morning that demonstrates “the photographer’s ability to capture the naked truth of flamenco art.” This event marks the beginning of the countdown to the event that will turn Seville into the world epicenter of art between September 9 and October 3.

Luis Ybarra, director of the Biennial, has stressed that Morenatti’s work is not just a poster but “a visual testimony that places the Biennial in a new dimension.” As he stated, “if in the announcement of his election we spoke of a declaration of intentions, today we are faced with a palpable reality: Morenatti’s gaze has managed to capture the most human essence of flamenco, stripping it of artifices to show its universal strength.” …

El cartel de la XXIV Bienal de Flamenco se ha presentado esta mañana por parte del alcalde, José Luis Sanz, y el autor de la obra, el fotoperiodista Emilio Morenatti. El acto ha tenido lugar en la presentación “Destino Sevilla” que ha realizado el Ayuntamiento con motivo de las actividades que va a desplegar en Madrid en la Feria Internacional de Turismo (FITUR) del 21 al 25 de enero.

Sanz, ha destacado de la obra que se ha conocido en la mañana de hoy que se demuestra “la capacidad del fotógrafo para capturar la verdad desnuda del arte jondo”. Este acto marca el inicio de la cuenta atrás para la cita que convertirá a Sevilla en el epicentro mundial del arte entre el 9 de septiembre y el 3 de octubre.

Luis Ybarra, director de la Bienal, ha subrayado que la obra de Morenatti no es solo un cartel sino “un testimonio visual que sitúa a la Bienal en una nueva dimensión”. Según ha manifestado, “si en el anuncio de su elección hablábamos de una declaración de intenciones, hoy estamos ante una realidad palpable: la mirada de Morenatti ha conseguido capturar la esencia más humana del flamenco, despojándolo de artificios para mostrar su fuerza universal”. …
