The Flamenco Festival begins!
This Thursday marks the start of the 29th Flamenco Festival at the Teatro Principal in Zamora, an event dedicated to this great art form that will take place every Thursday in February at 9:00 PM.

‘Dukkha’ is a Sanskrit term, from the classical language of India, from which our understanding of the word “duquelas” (sorrows/hardships) derives. This album is about this, about how Ezequiel Benítez recounts his sorrows from his home.

Ezequiel Benítez is an artist who is both traditional and innovative, given that his songwriting and the personal touch he brings to his performances make him a very original flamenco singer. His flamenco ideas are entirely his own and rooted in the pure Jerez school, where he was born in 1979 in a flamenco neighborhood like Santiago. Therefore, Ezequiel Benítez doesn’t limit his singing when choosing his venues, having participated in festivals of various kinds, including the Espárrago Rock festival in Jerez and Mar y Música in Alicante. Ezequiel Benítez has shared the stage with some of the greatest artists, such as Juan Valderrama, La Paquera, Chocolate, Enrique Morente, Lagartija Nick, Amaral, and many more. He also possesses a creative capacity that makes him a composer of great songs… which have been performed by major voices in the Spanish music scene and featured in commercials and feature films such as the movie Siete Jereles, Va por Ustedes… and his songs have been performed by artists like Malú, India Martínez, Niño de Elche, Radio Macandé, María Espinosa, Alejandra Rodríguez, Alex Ortiz, Reyes Carrasco, Rocío Márquez, Juan Juanelo, El Espíritu del Caballo, Onda Jerez, Canal Sur, and in the Jerez Christmas soundtrack.
