Synopsis

In Watercolors with Salt, water and salt merge between softness and strength, detail and depth, and together they evolve to create a radiant and powerful light. This is Cádiz and its sea, and this is how this work wants to convey where flamenco dancing begins on a canvas that creates, grows, colors, learns freely until it reaches the maximum expression of emotions through movement.

Water and salt, blue and white, delicacy and strength, fusion and purity, growth and evolution, sensitivity and passion is what the Ballet Flamenco de Cádiz represents, led by Pilar Ogalla and Andrés Peña, who after a long artistic career pour their knowledge into this beautiful and necessary project to culminate in “Watercolor with salt”, a work full of light and strength.

“Watercolor with salt” is a painting in movement imbued with the flamenco spirit of Cadiz and its province. Where the colors of the alegrías, the tanguillo, the farruca, the martinete, the siguiriya, the bulería por soleá, the guajira, the polo, the abandolaos, the fandangos and the tangos flutter around the stage, leaving something more than a danced canvas in your retina.

It is an experience that splashes you with sea water tinged with flamenco tones, culture, the feeling of a people guided by their customs and their heart. It has no dramaturgy or plot, but it is loaded with skeins of sensitivity based on traditional and classic flamenco, where an ole in time is a unique brushstroke and a caval silence gives depth to an unrepeatable painting by “Acuarela con sal”
