Festival Flamenco 2024 – Nîmes

The program of the festival, which takes place in Nîmes from January 10 to 24, was presented to the press this Tuesday. Music and dance, tradition and modernity, stars and young stars are there.

Eleven days, around fifteen shows but also meetings, an exhibition… From January 10 to 20, Nîmes (re)becomes the world capital of flamenco. With María Moreno, Paula Comitre and Patricia Guerrero, the dancers have the spotlight for this 34th edition.

When taking office in June, the new director of the Nîmes theater, Amélie Casasole, promised: “The flamenco festival will remain a highlight of our season”. The promise is therefore kept. The event, the program of which was revealed to the press this Monday, November 20, promises to be grandiose. Between modernity and tradition, young generation and established stars, the festival will come back to life in Nîmes for 11 days from January 10 to 24.

Tickets are on sale on the Nîmes theater website from Friday November 24 at 11 a.m. “Singing, dancing, creations, world premiere… it’s all the diversity of flamenco that we are showing,” announces Chema Blanco, artistic advisor of the festival. Of the fifteen shows, eight are performed by women.
Women in the spotlight

Great female figures in dance make up the program. We notably find the dancer from Cordoba Olga Pericet who presents the second part of her trilogy inspired by the guitarist Antonio de Torres. A piece called La Materia presented for the first in France. Wednesday January 10 at the Nîmes theater.
