Flamenco Denver presents “Raices”

Flamenco Denver’s world class performance, RAICES, explores and celebrates a faxt collection of flamenco styles called palos. Flamenco Denver is joined by world renowned guest artists from Spain and around the globe, including: Issac Tovar, former soloist at Ballet Flamenco Andalucia and Ballet Nacional de Espana, Amparo Heredia, singer of gypsy origins from Malaga and daughter of the legendary La Repompa, Jose Manuel Alconchel Ortega, guitarest from Jerez, recipient of 1st prize in multiple guitar contests, and collaborator with flamenco’s best known artists, Francisco Javier Orozco, “Yiyi,” born in Barcelona of an Andalusian family was considered a “child prodigy” of percussion and became an expert on flamenco singing, particularly for dancers, and Diego Alvarez “El Negro”, master cajon player from Venezuela who has more than 12 Latin Grammy nominations to his credit. Performing with these artists will be Maria Vazquez, Flamenco Denver Artistic and Executive Director, and Flamenco Denver dancers Carmen Diaz, Monica McChesney, and Erika Sandre.
