The Mar de Músicas Festival is held annually in Cartagena (Murcia) and is one of the most important events in the field of World Music.
The festival focuses on folk music from all over the world and, over the course of a month, the town becomes a major festive forum. All kinds of art forms are welcomed at this event. Some 50 groups and solo artists perform on the different stages prepared for the festival. Each year it focuses on a specific country, organizing conferences, exhibitions and other parallel activities relating to different aspects of its culture.
