Siudy Garrido Nominated for 2 Latin GRAMMY® Flamenco Company to perform at the Symphony Space in NYC November 6th
Siudy Garrido has been nominated for two Latin GRAMMY® as she returns to perform in New York City at the Symphony Space November 6th. The nominations include Best Long Form Music Video Documentary titled “BAILAORA – Mis pies son mi voz” directed by Tribeca award-winning director Pablo Croce. The documentary follows innovative Garrido exploring composition with flamenco musicians in reverse order, which means, that the composition is created from the rhythmic cells of her flamenco foot work. The documentary also discovers the intricate and demanding work put behind the company’s acclaimed choreographic productions.
This November 6, at the Symphony Space, Garrido will perform extracts of the work encapsulated in the nominated documentary along the repertoire suite “Flamenco Intimo”, which sold-out this past February at Symphony Space.
The critically acclaimed fire-fast percussive flamenco foot work by SIudy Garrido’s masterful solos, majestic and vivid choreographies made even more spectacular with stunning costumes and the inclusion of special guest flute and music composer Juan Parrilla as well as her regular master musicians, including Jose Luis de la Paz on the Guitar, Ismael Fernandez and Manuel Gago on vocals and Adolfo Herrera on percussion, make a promising Grammy worthy experience.
The company continues touring with its enthralling ‘Flamenco Intimo’, through Puerto Rico and Tampa before the Latin Grammy awards ceremonies in Las Vegas.
Siudy Garrido is known for the collaborations with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, also collaborations with flamenco artists Farruquito and Antonio Canales. A total of 11 artists will take the stage during one-show-only performance, including renowned musicians such as Adolfo Herrera on percussion, vocalists Manuel Gago, Ismael Fernandez, Jose Luis de la Paz on the guitar, Juan Parrilla on flute plus 5 Company Dancers, Daniela Rosi, Andrea Gonzalez, Isabela Calicchio, Anabella Amanau and Oriana Torres.
