Five years after Yjastros: The American Flamenco Repertory Company’s was founded, Israel Galván choreographed ‘Xicano Power’ for the company. To define the title, Galván searched for a name that would culturally represent the dancers who were going to interpret it. We have chosen the title Xicano Power for this show, focusing again on the interpreters and in the force that shapes who they are.
