Antonio Najarro will be awarded ‘Best International Choreographer 2024’ in New York City
The Spanish dance conquers the Big Apple
On September 30, the dancer and choreographer in Madrid will receive the award of the prestigious Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA), at the HK Hall in Manhattan
Antonio Najarro becomes the first Spanish dancer and choreographer recognized among the most influential Latin artists in history in the United States. He joins other historical winners such as Alfonso Cuarón, Andy García, Antonio Banderas, Benicio del Toro, John Leguizamo, Rosie Pérez, Rubén Blades and Sara Montiel.
HOLA rewards Antonio Najarro’s exceptional contribution to the world of dance and his long career as a dancer, choreographer and innovator. In addition to his training in classical ballet, flamenco and contemporary dance, he highlights his work as director of the Spanish National Ballet, as well as his collaborations with Olympic champions, Broadway productions and even having brought Spanish dance to the Disney Universe in the film “Wish.” This new recognition pushes me to continue working for the visibility of Spanish dance in the world, says excited Antonio Najarro, who thus adds the HOLA to his recent Diversa Award for Dance 2024, not forgetting that in October he will be decorated with the Gold Medal for Fine Arts.
