The classical music competition of young Interpreters of the Region of Murcia, Between Strings and Metals, organized by the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena and the Conservatory of Music of the municipality, celebrates this 2025 its 27th edition with a historical record of participation that highlights its consolidation as a cultural and artistic reference in the Region.
A total of 254 young performers have enrolled in this edition, far surpassing last year’s 192 participants and marking a milestone in the history of the contest. This growth coincides with the celebration of the centenary of the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, a key institution in the formation of musical talents of the city and the Region of Murcia.
The participants, coming from all the conservatories of the Region, located in Cartagena, Murcia, Lorca, Molina de Segura, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cieza, San Javier and Jumilla, will compete in various modalities, reflecting the musical diversity of the contest:
Wood Wind: 47 registrations
Metal Wind: 47 registrations
String: 37 registrations
Pulsed String: 17 registrations
Percussion: 18 registrations
Piano: 18 registrations
Voice: 8 registrations
Chamber music: 20 groups, with 62 participants
