My country is freedom is the portrait of an artist who transcended his art, of an everlasting icon, of raging relevance. The story of one of the most brilliant and atypical artistic careers of a classic flamenco singer who is resounding in his convictions. It is impossible to separate what he sings from what he is and vice versa.

His was not only, and is, a necessary voice because what he demands is a just and humane life, but also his integrity and honesty remained unblemished, refusing to serve as a loudspeaker for other interests or rejecting recognition with which they tried to buy him.

His figure was so great that it is not surprising that he is now missed in a thousand places: in the pasture and in the trench, in the auditorium, in convictions and in the soul.

So, let us hear his voice because it is the cry of the people.

Mi patria es la libertad es el retrato de un artista que trascendió su arte, de un icono imperecedero, de rabiosa actualidad. La historia de una las carreras artísticas más fulgurantes y atípicas de un cantaor flamenco clásico y rotundo en sus convicciones. Es imposible separar lo que canta de lo que es y viceversa.

La suya no solo era, y es, una voz necesaria porque lo que reclama es una vida justa y humana, sino que, además, su integridad y honestidad se mantuvo impoluta, negándose a servir de altavoz de otros intereses o rechazando reconocimientos con los que pretendían comprarle.

Tan grande era su figura que no es de extrañar que ahora se le eche de menos en mil sitios: en la dehesa y en la trinchera, en el auditorio, en las convicciones y en el alma.

Pues eso, oigamos su voz porque es el grito del pueblo.
