The Festival de Cante Jondo Antonio Mairena celebrates LXIII editions betting on flamenco as a backbone in all its programming and extolling the flamenco root of the endogenous mairenera culture. Essential quote from the genre, in 2024 will be held from September 3 to September 7 in different stages of Mairena del Alcor such as the Municipal Theatre Calixto Sánchez, the Palacio de los Duques House and the Manuel Mairena Municipal Auditorium.

The origin of the Flamenco Festival dates back to 1962 when it emerged as a charity event organized by Antonio Mairena in collaboration with the local priest, adding shortly after the invaluable support of the Mairena del Alcor City Council. This flamenco show was from its origin directed by Antonio Mairena himself, who at that time had already won the III Golden Key of Cante.

The design of the poster of the LXIII edition of the Jondo Antonio Mairena Festival honors the 10 years of the death of Paco de Lucía and has been made in this edition by the architect and designer, Juan José Montoya.

21 hours – Inauguration of the LXIII Festival of Cante Jondo Antonio Mairena by the mayor of Mairena del Alcor, Juan Manuel López.

21-15 hours – Conference The Mairenista and Almerian identity of Lucas López, by Manuel Martín Martín.

22.30 hours – Recital flamenco by Sonia Miranda, to the guitar of Manolo Franco.

4 SEPTIEMBRE – Municipal Theatre Calixto Sánchez

21-30 hours – Flamenco Show I Ballo with María Moreno al baile, songs by Miguel El Lavi and Manuel “Child of Gines,” guitar of “Delus Lago and palms of Roberto Jaén.”

5 SEPTIEMBRE – Municipal Theatre Calixto Sánchez and Casa Palacio de los Duques de Arcos

21 hours – Conference 10 years of Paco de Lucía, Juan José Téllez.

22.30 – Recital flamenco by José Canela, to the guitar of Antonio Carrión.

22 hours – LXII National Singing Competition Jondo Antonio Mairena, organized by the Casa del Arte Flamenco Antonio Mairena. He will be dedicated to Ricardo Miño and Pepa Montes.

7 SEPTIEMBRE . Great Festival gala

22 HORAS – LXIII Gala of the Jondo Antonio Mairena Singing Festival.
