La Terraza would not be La Terraza without some live music! This year’s edition will feature Balkan paradise orchestra.

Balkan Paradise Orchestra (BPO) is a ten-member, all-female brass, woodwind, and percussion band from Barcelona that burst onto the scene in 2015, born out of friendship, a fascination with Balkan brass traditions, and a desire to create something bold and distinctive. What began as a street music project has evolved into a high-energy ensemble known for its explosive live shows and international acclaim.

Initially performing traditional music from Serbia and Romania, BPO gradually developed a unique sound an eclectic mix of Balkan rhythms with influences from the Iberian Peninsula and beyond. Their diverse musical backgrounds, spanning classical, jazz, and contemporary styles, enrich their compositions and fuel their creative evolution.

Renowned for their electrifying stage presence, BPO delivers choreographed, emotionally resonant performances that forge deep connections with audiences of all ages. Their roots in street and circus festivals have shaped a spontaneous, joyful style that radiates authenticity and celebration.

With three albums, an EP, and a growing list of accolades, including Best Folk Album (Enderrock, 2018) and Best International Tour (Arc Awards, 2022), the group continues to push boundaries. Their latest release, Nèctar (2024), is a mostly instrumental album inspired by the world of bees; community, effort, and the drive to live fully. It includes collaborations with synth artist Meritxell Neddermann and vocalists from Maruja Limón, blending Balkan roots with touches of electronic, pop, and acoustic textures.

Following a successful launch tour in Barcelona and Madrid, Nèctar has taken BPO to seven countries, including a U.S. tour and a special collaboration with Natalia Lafourcade for Vogue Spain’s Día de Muertos. In 2025, BPO continues its Nèctar Tour, returning to France, Germany, Italy, the U.S., and Canada, marking its most international and ambitious tour yet.
