Flamenco Biënnale Intermezzo, Nov 2026, Nederland * La Lyra del Mar; AgusFulka; Julio Ruiz; Yerai Cortés and Angeles Toledano
November is Intermezzo Month!

The moment has finally arrived. La Lyra del Mar—the latest creation from the Flamenco Biënnale—will have its world premiere on November 3rd at the Cello Biënnale, and Schouwburg Concertzaal Tilburg on November 6th.
La Lyra del Mar is the latest project from FBN in a long series of musical dialogues, in which flamenco forms exciting alliances with other musical traditions. This FBN original—created in collaboration with the Cello Biënnale—brings together seven exceptional musicians and dancers from the Mediterranean region. Centered around the Cretan lyra played by Kelly Thoma, cellists Giovanni Sollima and Maya Fridman join forces with the flamenco guitar of Dani de Morón. With the subtle percussion of Agustín Diassera and the virtuosic footwork of dancer Thanasis Mavrokostas and rising flamenco star Julio Ruiz, a musical adventure unfolds—rich in stories, ancient melodies, and irresistible rhythms. Following its world premiere at the Cello Biënnale Amsterdam, La Lyra del Mar will travel to Schouwburg Concertzaal Tilburg. Don’t miss this extraordinary encounter between musical worlds!

AgusFulka: Como en Casa Tour
FBN loves young talent! Spanish-Argentine guitarist and composer AgusFulka is bringing fresh flamenco-jazz sounds to five venues across the Netherlands as part of his Como en Casa tour. For each concert, he invites guest artists to help bring the music from his debut album, Aletheia, to life in a new way. Together on stage, they set out to discover a shared musical home.
During FBN 2025, AgusFulka brought the Bimhuis café to life with late-night jam sessions, and this past summer, he and his quintet presented Aletheia on the terrace of the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ. Now, the Flamenco Biënnale is supporting his first tour as part of Intermezzo 2026. Step into the world of AgusFulka and make yourself at home—Como en Casa!

Julio Ruiz – Masterclass at ICK
Acclaimed Spanish dancer and choreographer Julio Ruiz is teaching a masterclass at ICK, platform for contemporary dance in Amsterdam. A rare opportunity for dance professionals to immerse themselves in the world of an artist working at the intersection of contemporary dance, performance and flamenco.
Yerai Cortés and Angeles Toledano, from FBN to LGW
Even before his big breakthrough in Spain, guitarist Yerai Cortés made his Dutch debut at the Flamenco Biennale. During the 9th edition he played an acoustic concert in De Balie and visited four concert halls. At the anniversary edition last year, he returned as one of the big audience favorites, partly due to the success of the documentary ‘La guitarra flamenca de Yerai Cortés’, by rapper C. Tangana, which we showed in four arthouse cinemas. Yerai, now a globally celebrated artist, will make his appearance at Le Guess Who in Utrecht on November 8. Just like singer Angeles Toledano, who was given a stage during Flamenco OFF-BEAT in the Muziekgebouw in the XL Intermezzo 2024.
