OLGA PERICET – BAILAORA & CHOREOGRAPHER

Olga Pericet is one of the most prestigious artists in flamenco today, having studied at the Conservatory of Córdoba as well as a guest artist dance companies such as Nuevo Ballet Español and the Ballet Nacional de España, among others. Her art has taken her across the globe to international festivals in Washington, New York, Miami, London, Sevilla, Jerez, and Madrid as well as in Netherlands, China, France and Australia. Her many awards include the Villa de Madrid Award for best dance performer (2006), the Pilar López National Flamenco Award, the MAX award for choreographing, the first prize in both choreography and music in the Flamenco and Spanish Dance Choreography Contest in Madrid (2004), Best Female Dance Performer nomination for the 15th Performing Arts MAX award (2012), MAX award for the Best Female Dancer for “Footprints” (2015) and the Critics Award of Festival de Jerez (2017) and the Spanish National Dance Prize in (2018).

Her career began in her native Córdoba. She graduated from the Luis del Río Professional Conservatory. She continued her studies at the Maica Moyano approved School and trained in flamenco, folklore, bolero and classical dance with masters such as Matilde Coral, Manolo Marín, Concha Calero, Cristóbal Reyes, Juanjo Linares, Pedro Azorín, Eloy Pericet, Julio Príncipe and José Barn, among others. She has been soloist and guest artist of companies such as Rafaela Carrasco, Nuevo Ballet Español, Arrieritos, Miguel Ángel Berna, Teresa Nieto, Belén Maya and the National Ballet of Spain and has shared the stage with Ana Laguna, Nacho Duato and Enrique Morente.

Olga is an exceptional dancer and teacher. She uses her total technical mastery to create a gutsy yet graceful style, with great suppleness and emotion.

Creadora internacional, la bailaora y coreógrafa Olga Pericet comparte su vibrante arte con el público de los principales festivales y teatros del mundo. Bebe de la tradición y se lanza al abismo de lo nunca visto con espectáculos en los que late un flamenco de opuestos: oscuro y luminoso, femenino y masculino, inquietante y bello.

En 2018 recibe el Premio Nacional de Danza en la modalidad de Interpretación por “su capacidad de aunar las distintas disciplinas de la danza española, actualizándolas en un lenguaje interpretativo con sello propio” y por “su versatilidad escénica y su valiosa capacidad de transmisión”.

Su carrera empieza en su Córdoba natal. Se licencia en el Conservatorio Profesional Luis del Río. Cursa carrera en la Escuela homologada Maica Moyano y se forma en flamenco, folclore,escuela bolera y clásico con maestros de la talla de Matilde Coral, Manolo Marín, Concha Calero, Cristóbal Reyes, Juanjo Linares, PedroAzorín, Eloy Pericet, Julio Príncipe o José Granero, entre otros. Ha sido solista y artista invitada de compañías como la de Rafaela Carrasco, Nuevo Ballet Español, Arrieritos, Miguel Ángel Berna, Teresa Nieto, Belén Maya y el Ballet Nacional de España. Comparte escenario con Ana Laguna, Nacho Duato y Enrique Morente.
